Championing a new model for economic prosperity thanks to a growing number of creative micro-entrepreneurs – or “makers” – who have worked with local government to achieve success, Since 2016, Tacoma has been designated as an Etsy Maker City, one of only a handful of cities nationally to receive such recognition. In addition, programs like Spaceworks Tacoma match artists and creative entrepreneurs with vacant spaces to help grow their business.
